Harris Hill is excited to be working with the National Union of Students to find their next Director of Communications, on an initial 6-month contract.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing leadership, direction and development of NUS' communications strategy
Playing a key role in developing NUS' brand to maximise its influence and impact
Developing and delivering NUS' internal and external communications strategy, taking full advantage of available tools to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences
Providing a strategic framework for the effective management and delivering of the annual operating plans for the Communications and Campaigns teams
Ensuring a proactive approach to communications across the wider organisation, with a particular emphasis on digital media

You will also have significant experience of representing an organisation to wide range of audiences and a diplomatic approach to communications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an impact-focused and decisive communications professional to make a tangible difference to lives of students from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. BAME applicants are particularly encouraged to apply.

About NUS
There are more than 550 students' unions across the country, professionally run as separate organisations from the colleges and universities their students attend. Professionally run, but different.
The exact opposite of corporate, we're progressive, creative individuals making a difference in unconventional workplaces. We want our student members and student leaders to achieve their potential in life, get the best out of their student experience and make the change they want for themselves.
We know that different is good: the more diversity, the better the ideas, the greater the impact. We offer challenging, fulfilling work with a commitment to personal development in highly flexible, supportive environments.

Our principles
We make change happen by developing empowered individuals who make a difference to the world around us. We put students at the heart of everything students' unions do. We listen and work with our people to ensure that students have access to the support and activities they need to make the most of their potential.

Our values
We are inclusive
We are supportive
We are dynamic
We are representative
