The Role
The Disasters Emergency Committee is looking for a Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer who will provide support on direct marketing fundraising activities, both in and out of appeal, to help ensure that maximum income is receive. They will also be responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative and office management support service to their Fundraising and Marketing department.

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is a unique and dynamic membership organisation which comprises 13 of the UK’s leading humanitarian agencies: ActionAid, Age International, British Red Cross, CAFOD, CARE International, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide (UK), Islamic Relief Worldwide, Oxfam, Plan International UK, Save the Children, Tearfund and World Vision.
Since it was founded in 1963, the DEC has run over 60 fundraising appeals and raised more than £1.4bn to help save lives and protect livelihoods in disaster-affected communities around the world.
Key responsibilities
The Fundraising Officer is responsible for managing their own work load on a day to day basis reporting to the Direct Marketing Manager. The role also involves working closely with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing to develop internal systems, update and monitor departmental budgets, and provide administrative support. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for creating effective archiving and filing systems to be shared with units within the department as well as day-to-day coordination and project management for departmental projects and initiatives. During appeals and milestone activity the Fundraising Officer will support the Direct Marketing Manager with the coordination of implementing direct marketing activities.
