Our client is a national charity that supports those affected by imprisonment, and their children and families.

Position: Through the Gate Mentor
Location: Wrexham (Commutable from Chester, Whitchurch, Llangollen, Corwen, Ruthin, Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas)
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £12,000 (FTE £20,000)

About the role:

They are currently looking to recruit a part time worker based in Wrexham, although you will have a central base at this location, your role will involve regular travel through North Wales.

You will be responsible for a caseload of individuals whom have convictions and who are being released from prison. You will be responsible for providing them with appropriate support to ensure a successful resettlement into the community. You will provide one to one casework, and drop-in sessions, this may include meeting the client whilst still in custody to complete an action plan, meeting the client at the gate, accompanying them to any appointments and supported referrals. As such the role involves extensive travel in your own vehicle, accompanied by Service Users (you will be fully reimbursed for this at 45p/mile).

About you:

You will need to build and maintain effective relationships with prisons, Community Rehabilitation Companies and community agencies, ensuring successful referral and feedback mechanisms are in place and providing timely and regular information to the Mentoring Co-Ordinator with regards to targets, progress and issues.

This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, verification of identity and proven right to work in the UK, satisfactory HMPPS / MoJ Security Vetting, satisfactory employer references covering a minimum of 3 years and a satisfactory enhanced DBS. Please note that being bankrupt or having County Court Judgements may affect your ability to be successfully vetted to work in a prison.

They require that you have access to a vehicle.
