Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Denbighshire
Contract type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £20,345 per annum (actual)
Closing date: 9am on Monday 23rd July
Interview date: Thursday 26th July
About the role:
Working within their team as a Dementia Support Worker, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide information and guidance to people living with dementia and their carers; your role will help to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and empower them in their daily lives.
You will offer support and guidance in a variety of ways: face to face, by phone, letter or email. A primary part of the role will be signposting to external support organisations/agencies, liaising with health & social care professionals and other third sector organisations. You will also be expected to attend networking events, to raise the awareness and promote their services.
About you:
They are looking for an individual who possesses NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers. An ability to assess service user needs along with an understanding of the importance of confidentially is essential.
To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication & listening skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills.
This role requires regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable.
Due to the nature of this role you will be required to travel independently across the whole of Denbighshire.
