HR Officer (Advice & Guidance) 

Our client is one of the leading learning disability charities in the country, providing support for 3,000 people with a learning disability and employing around 3000 staff. Operationally, they have been and continue to be innovative in recognising and championing good support, whilst taking an alternative view at how support is provided. Their efforts are sector leading and recognised and observed by CQC and local authorities who provide most of the funding for care packages. 

Position: HR Officer (Advice & Guidance) 
Location: Central Support Office, Emersons Green, Bristol, BS16 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 hours a week 
Salary: £28,755 per annum

About the role: 

As with all Social Care providers, tjhey are facing very challenging times ahead. In response to the changing landscape across the learning disability sector, they have developed their business strategy, Fusion Biz, which provides a framework detailing how they run their business support activities, processes and systems across the organisation. 

The Advice and Guidance function has been set up in order to provide support and direction to managers across the country. They have introduced bespoke software (Simplisys) to record and report on all HR casework. 

The HR Officer will be the first point of contact for all HR queries from managers and staff across the whole of the charity, you will resolve all routine queries in a timely fashion and to escalate other queries to the Senior Business Partner, Head of HR or the Executive Director of People and Comms as appropriate. You will also log all queries and produce monthly analytics as directed and review practices and make service improvement suggestions to the Head of HR. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will hold an associate CIPD qualification or relevant level of experience as stated below, you will also have substantial and up to date knowledge of Employment Law. You must have extensive experience and knowledge of all HR casework (grievances, disciplinaries, performance management, sickness absence management) and provide advice in line with their agreed policy, best practice and legal frameworks. Ideally you will have some experience in a call centre environment / or equivalent, providing a similar service to a national organisation. 

There will be occasions where you will be required to travel (with possible overnight stays) in order to support line managers through coaching around case management and hearings.
