Job Details

This role will be responsible for applying for funding from UK medium sized trusts, large foundations, the Big Lottery, and for researching funding opportunities from other statutory sources for this social welfare charity.

Description

The key responsibilities of this Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Officer will be:

  • Advising, leading, or working with colleagues to initiate and nurture positive, productive relationships with key stakeholders from charitable trusts, Big Lottery and statutory bodies (current funders, past funders and prospects), including face-to-face meetings, cultivation events, and office visits, and lead on initiating and fostering positive relationships with small to medium charitable trusts with the Fundraising Officer.
  • Researching potential charitable trusts, Big Lottery and statutory bodies funding streams and maintaining a detailed prospect planning pipeline
  • Staying informed of developments and trends within charitable trusts, Big Lottery and statutory bodies by monitoring relevant information and networking with colleagues in the sector.
  • Being responsible for a portfolio of current and potential trust donors to maintain, grow and/or revive their support through excellent donor management.
  • Developing and implementing an annual work plan to achieve targets and other key objectives.
  • Daily collaboration with, and support of, the Fundraising Officer, including work planning and relationship management. There is the possibility of line management at a later stage in this role.
  • Leading on the preparation of funding bids, planning and managing the process, working with the Heads of Service and/or the Head of Fundraising as appropriate. Working collaboratively with colleagues in other teams, draft relevant content; prepare outline budgets and resource needs, and preparing a professional, compelling and persuasive proposition.
  • Account management of trust, lottery and statutory grants; ensuring that reporting is on-time, compliant with grant terms and conditions, professional and of high quality.
  • Coordinate production of content and case studies from different teams, working with finance and Head of Fundraising to ensure accurate financial reporting with each grant report and ensuring significant budget variance or changes in budget lines are discussed and agreed with funders in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the database is utilised fully and maintained with regard to charitable trusts, Big Lottery and statutory bodies.

Profile

The person specification for this Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Officer is:

  • A successful track record of meeting income targets.
  • Flair for and interest in researching and prepare imaginative funding packages.
  • Passion for Trust Fundraising.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial control.
  • A persuasive personality with excellent interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate with word processing skills and familiarity with the use of databases and spreadsheets - word, excel and internet.
  • Experience of strategic planning, analysis, monitoring and evaluation.
  • The ability to work on own initiative, be disciplined, enabling the delegation and/or prioritising of work, particularly under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team context, supporting colleagues and working independently when required.

Job Offer

This organisation is looking to offer a salary of between £29,000 and £35,000, depending on experience.
