External Affairs Advisor

A global animal welfare charity is looking for an External Affairs Advisor to lead on and develop its policy positions and external affairs function in a UK context.

Working closely with UK and international Campaign Managers, you will provide external affairs support to the charity's campaign activities, for example, by building and managing key relationships with parliamentarians and media representatives. This is a role that focuses heavily on political engagement, where you will increase the charity's brand recognition and influence across all political parties. You will also be heavily involved in the charity's Brexit process, and will develop and drive forward its advocacy plan.

This is a newly-created position within a global animal welfare charity, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to how animals are treated nationally and internationally; therefore, this position requires an experienced and highly-motivated stakeholder engagement specialist, with a track record of political lobbying, engagement and influencing and the confidence and attitude to drive forward such a function. You will be an effective communicator, as you will be dealing with internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities, and have strong project management and coordination skills.
