Job Details

We are looking for an outstanding communicator with exceptional writing skills and experience of securing quality media coverage, building relationships with journalists and handling social media to join us in ending hunger in the UK.

The Media Coordinator is the first point of contact for journalists and undertakes both proactive and reactive media work through traditional and social media channels to support the work of The Trussell Trust’s Policy, External Affairs and Research team.

The team challenges injustice by raising awareness of the reality of hunger and poverty through the media, engaging policy and decision makers, undertaking vital research to shed more light on why people face hunger today and campaigning for systemic change so we can stop people facing hunger in the future.

About you:

You will have experience of working in a press office and building relationships with journalists to secure high quality media coverage. You must be an exceptional communicator in both written and verbal communication, able to communicate complex information to different audiences and deal with tight deadlines under pressure as part of a small, dynamic team. You will be determined, resourceful and passionate about ending hunger in the UK.

Please submit your application no later than 12pm on Friday 3rd August 2018.  We reserve the right to close early or extend this date depending on the number of applicants.

Interviews will be held in the week commencing 13th August and 20th August 2018 in London, but some flexibility to allow for summer commitments at this time of year can be arranged so please do apply if you fit the bill but aren’t free that week!

Please note, incomplete or speculative applications will not be considered.
