Job Details

Prospectus are proud to be partnering with a leading sheltered housing provider, striving to help homeless young people build firm foundations by facilitating their independence and integration into society. They are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteer Peer Coordinator, to help oversee 6 volunteer Wellbeing Peer Advisers as part of the organisation's 'Psychological Wellbeing Programme' aimed at enhancing the life opportunities of vulnerable homeless service users.

The Psychological Wellbeing Programme focuses the attention on moving people through recovery by providing a range of psychological and therapeutic approaches and tools. In addition to a Specialist Health and Wellbeing Manager and 2 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, the programme will include this particular post, who will then oversee 6 volunteer Wellbeing Peer Advisers, made up of current service users. The role will assist with the setup of the programme, including producing literature, making connections, staffing, reporting and developing the procedures needed for the programme. The role will also entail building relationships with volunteering and employment teams to maximise the volunteers in gaining further training and employment. The role will also entail managing targets and reporting on a regular basis.

To apply for this role you must have previous experience of managing a volunteering programme, and of working in a health sector environment. You must have demonstrable experience of delivering supervision, coaching or mentoring, and of co-production, developing programmes that respond to change and need. You must have an understanding of best practice with regards to supporting people with mental health issues, coupled with the ability to put this in to practice.

If you are interested in making a positive change to the lives of vulnerable homeless customers, please send your CV in Word Format (a Cover Letter is not required at this stage). Suitable candidates will then be contacted and will be asked to complete an application form.

Please note this role is initially offered as a Fixed Term Contract until August 2021
