Earthwatch Europe is recruiting for a Senior Development Manager in our Corporate Partnerships Team, to help  maximise opportunities to deliver our mission by building on our highly successful corporate partnership model and identifying and securing new corporate partnerships.

OVERVIEW

Earthwatch is recruiting for a Senior Development Manager in our Corporate Partnerships Team. We work with companies who want to improve their impact on the environment and take the action necessary for a sustainable planet. Earthwatch already has strong, long-standing partnerships including, Mitsubishi and HSBC and we are looking to expand our portfolio. Our new corporate strategy will focus on science-based, sustainability solutions within the broad environmental challenges of climate change, fresh water and marine pollution and biodiversity loss. 

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnerships, you will have an exciting challenge to help Earthwatch to maximise opportunities to deliver our mission by building on our highly successful corporate partnership model and identifying and securing new corporate partnerships.

You will be an exceptional relationship builder with a successful track record of corporate engagement and substantial experience of identifying, cultivating and delivering new business.  You will have a good understanding of business sustainability and/or environmental challenges. You may not have worked for a charity but you will be adept at understanding a new organisation or sector and being able to add value.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Role purpose:

To develop successful corporate partnerships which maximise income and outcomes for Earthwatch.

Key deliverables:

  • To secure significant investment from the corporate sector through the development of new partnerships to an agreed annual target
  • Lead on developing new corporate partner propositions which support the business sustainability agenda, e.g. around key issues such as supply chain challenges or plastics
  • Conduct comprehensive research about prospective corporate partners in the UK and abroad
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Earthwatch on a partnership development process which ensures corporate pitches are tailored and impactful
  • Build a healthy pipeline of new prospects to manage through the partnership develop process – from lead generation through to meetings, and contract stage
  • Produce bespoke and compelling proposals
  • To be knowledgable and up –to-date on current sustainability issues, trends and best-in-class partnerships
  • Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably required in the position and contribute to wider activity and the overall success of the team

REQUIREMENTS

Person specification:

  • Extensive corporate partnership development or management experience with the proven ability to work collaboratively
  • Thorough understanding of key business sustainability and/or environmental challenges
  • Proactive approach to spotting new business opportunities and strong creative and lateral thinking skills to develop tailored propositions and cultivation plans for new prospects
  • Ability to bring clarity through engaging proposals on complex issues, with strong numerical skills to produce accurate financial supporting documents
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to present and write persuasively (including compelling cases for engagement and support )
  • Proven ability to represent an organisation at a senior level, with strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage competing requirements and deliver on time
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Earthwatch
