Young Carers Project Manager

Our client is a charity which supports family/unpaid carers and aims to improve their quality of life. The charity was formed in 2010 and provides a range of services such as support groups, counselling, training, carers assessments, benefits advice and carers breaks.

One of their aims is to ensure that Carers enjoy a life outside caring and don’t fall into financial hardship.

Young Carers Project Manager (Full-time)
£28,000 pa 1 year contract initially (renewable subject to funding)

An exciting new opportunity in this newly created post working, full time on their Young Carers Project providing support to 5-18 year olds with caring responsibilities. The Project helps Young Carers in school or college, provides one to one support, activities and outings.

Managing the Young Carers Support Officers and working as a team to deliver a quality young carers service, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and committed individual. The right candidate will ideally have some experience of working with children and young people, knowledge of Young Carers and have some experience of managing staff.

The role will involve: line management, delivering presentations to teaching staff and students, monitoring and reporting on the project outcomes and working alongside other professionals to identify and support young carers. See below for more essential skills.
