An International Development charity based in London is looking for a Digital Fundraising Manager

You will be an expert in both fundraising and digital comms and train colleagues on best practice, championing the opportunities for digital fundraising to help the whole organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • To create a Digital Fundraising strategy and programme of activities that maximise online income and engage new and existing supporters.
  • Oversee the implementation and ongoing evaluation of this strategy, working with colleagues across fundraising, digital communications and the wider organisation.

Line Management

  • Set objectives, provide professional support and personal development, and provide day-to-day line management of the Digital Fundraising Support Officer.

Digital Fundraising Lead

  • Champion digital channels for fundraising
  • Training colleagues in digital fundraising systems (such as databases, CMS, etc) and best practice (highlighting how these differ from offline marketing and fundraising).
  • Mainstreaming digital across the Fundraising department. By assisting fundraising colleagues in their projects e.g. website optimisation, promotion plans, development projects; and encouraging colleagues to appreciate the potential of digital channels for their audiences. 
  • Be an in-house expert give advice to colleagues on optimising their fundraising efforts on digital channels and integrating digital channels into their projects. 

Project planning and promotion

  • Identify budget and other resource requirements and develop a programme of activities for the digital fundraising team during annual planning.
  • Liaise with other Fundraising departments and Digital Communications to ensure all projects planned in advance and given capacity and support needed.
  • Lead on creation of fundraising emails including being able to write, edit and create email appeals, and advise on email newsletters.
  • Assist with content ideas and creation e.g. website stories, social media.

Online Appeals

  • Database set up of online donation and promotion campaigns ensuring that outgoing communications and income is tracked correctly and that thorough evaluations of promotional activity are undertaken.
  • Use expert knowledge to write appeal pages and emails, contribute ideas and content for website stories, blogs and social media.

Job-specific competencies

  • Expert knowledge of online marketing.
  • Experience of fundraising principles/marketing knowledge
  • Proven experience of multi-channel marketing and promotion, using search (paid & organic), email, social media, websites.
  • KPI setting, statistical analysis and interpretation
  • Audience research, profiling and market analysis
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse campaign results to deliver recommendations backed with a strong rationale.

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant qualification in digital fundraising or proven experience in a similar role
  • Experience of work on digital fundraising strategies and development.
  • Experience of line management
  • Experience of working with external agencies and suppliers
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM, eZadmin CMS, DotMailer, Google Analytics.
