Support Worker - Nights 

Our client, based on a 68 acre site near Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire, comprises a School, College and Care Home providing specialist services for people with severe epilepsy and other complex medical conditions. The Centre is within a commutable distance of Harlow, Bishops Stortford, Ware, Hertford & surrounding towns. 

Position: Night Care Assistants 
Location: Perry Green, Much Hadham, East Hertfordshire (Commutable from Harlow, Stevenage, Chelmsford and surrounding areas) 
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 40 hours over 8 nights (10 hours per night), 21:30 - 07:30; 10 hours per night shift. Shifts in the Children’s Home, are 20:15 - 07:15 (11 hours per shift) 
Salary: £9.33 to £10.62 per hours, depending on experience

They are based in beautiful grounds with free on-site parking. On site accommodation is also available for staff whose home is 50 miles+ from the Centre for up to 24 months. 

About the role: 

They have opportunities for Night Care Assistants (permanent and bank) to join their multi-skilled night teams within the Adult Home, College and Children’s Home, providing a high level of care. 

They are looking for conscientious, committed individuals who are flexible in their approach and wish to work in a challenging role supporting adults who have disabilities. Based either in Adult Services, the Children’s Home, or the College, as a Night Care Assistant you will be looking after adult residents & children during the night period, supporting their emotional well-being, ensuring they are safe and undertaking domestic duties. 

Responsibilities: 

- Supporting their emotional needs & managing challenging behaviours 
- Ensuring the safety of their residents 
- Providing direct care including personal care 
- Reacting appropriately to night health monitoring equipment 
- Undertaking of light household duties including: washing, ironing, cleaning etc 

About you: 

- Ideally you will have previous experience with working with children, young people and vulnerable adults 
- You are keen to support with behavioural issues and are able to work independently or as part of a team 
- As a recognised Investor in People, they offer commitment to your CPD, supportive leadership and excellent training including Specialist Epilepsy training 
- The Centre is not on a public transport route so ideally you would hold a full UK driving licence
