Job Details
We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding professional to join us and take the lead role in the development and implementation of our safeguarding policies. You'll create a workforce confident in the handling of safeguarding issues ensuring they are supported in the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults particularly but not exclusively in our stores and at fundraising events.
You'll lead the continued development of a Safeguarding strategy in line with best practice and advise Senior Management and our Board of Trustees on the scope, development and implementation of these policies ensuring they are fit for a large complex organisation.
You'll be responsible for working with key external stakeholders such as the NVCO (National Council for Volunteering Organisations) and the CRA (Charity Retail Association) as well as other charities, to ensure our safeguarding policies are appropriate whilst also working closely with the HR team to ensure all safeguarding concerns and disclosures are correctly reported and managed.
About you
The successful applicant will have significant experience in the field of safeguarding for children, young people and vulnerable adults and experience of working with voluntary sector groups.
Acting as the strategic lead on Safeguarding you'll have a level of authority to lead on all matters independently and with confidence, advising and working with Senior Managers and Trustees. You'll also be able to promote and build confidence in staff across the business on all safeguarding matters and be able to develop excellent working relationships with key colleagues.
With excellent communication and organisational skills you'll be able to design and deliver safeguarding training in different organisational settings, measuring its impact.About us
