Finance Manager

Harris Hill are proud to be working with an international human rights organisation to find a strong Finance Manager (with projects experience) to join a small and friendly team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Financial Management Systems, the project accounting, management accounting and year-end reports. You will also take care of the day to day financial management and bookkeeping.


Responsibilities include:
- Making sure the bookkeeping is accurate and up to date
- Monthly reconciliations of cash, bank, payroll and balance sheet accounts
- Managing and maintaining the cash position
- Preparing payment requests
- Processing invoices and dealing with supplier queries
- Managing payroll & pensions
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Petty cash, advances and staff expenses claims
- Annual audit process with senior management to produce statutory accounts
- Quarterly management for senior management and Trustees

Project Finance Responsibilities include:
- Preparing project finance reports
- Preparing donor financial reports
- Payment requests (donor contracts)
- Acting as finance business partner to project teams
- Supporting project staff with reforecasting
- Supporting project teams in developing budgets for fundraising bids
- Taking the lead on project audits

Skills and experience:
- part qualified or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience of Charity Accounting & Charity SORP guidelines
- Experience in a Charity Finance role having produced project or management accounts and year end accounts
- Experience of explaining financial information to non-finance staff
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience of dealing with large international donors
