Tynedale Hospice at Home is a well-established local charity dedicated to providing high quality, end of life care and support to those living in the catchment area covering the wider communities of Tynedale, West Northumberland and Ponteland. Founded in 1993 our services include the provision of Nursing Care, Family support (to all ages) and a hospital transport service. Tynedale Hospice at Home is a hospice without beds and all of the care and support we provide is free of charge to families living in the service area, which embraces around 70,000 people.

As part of our journey of continuous improvement we are delighted to invite applications for the following vacancy:-

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Salary by negotiation in the region of £50,000 per annum full time (37.5 hrs per week)

Consideration may be given to this role on reduced hours and a pro rata salary

Tynedale Hospice at Home has been on a strong upward journey in the last 3 years, and the Board are now inviting applications for the role of CEO in order to continue the step change that has begun, leading and supporting our skilled group of specialist staff.

The Role:-
Based in Hexham, Northumberland as CEO you will report directly to the Board of Trustees and will have overall responsibility for the operational leadership and financial health of the organisation.

Together with the board of trustees you will develop the strategic direction of the charity and work closely with the Hospices North East Collaborative.

As the most senior person within the charity and with important responsibilities, this role will be very rewarding in terms of making a positive impact on the local area. You will lead the team who are passionate about the services we deliver, the local area and the charity’s focus.

The role of CEO for Tynedale Hospice at Home brings a wealth of interesting challenges and projects in order to maintain and further improve the achievements made so far.

Your core responsibilities will entail:-

  • Working closely with the Board of Trustees and being responsible for the overall success of the organisational leadership, staff management and its financial and administrative health.
  • Ensuring the organisation continues to drive forward its professional approach to the quality of its charitable activities in accordance with the strategy agreed with the Board.

The applicant:-

We welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate experience of long term senior operational management and strategic planning (ideally in relation to a previous charity or public sector), and the ability to excel as a leader manager of people with strong organisation skills, written and verbal communication skills. With a diplomatic approach you should be a dynamic and commercially focussed executive leader with the credibility to lead our focussed team of dedicated people.
