Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, we have helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We are on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as challenging as physical ones - we know that speaking out isn’t easy - so when a veteran is having a tough time, we make sure we’re always there.

Combat Stress is in the early stages of developing an important fundraising Appeal to coincide with the charity’s centenary and to ensure that every veteran who turns to us gets the right care, at the right time, and from the right place. The Appeal will take place over a two to three-year period and will set out to improve access to our services, whilst educating and supporting key groups about military mental health.

We are now recruiting for an Appeal Project Manager, who will support the Fundraising Management team to achieve their Appeal income targets by developing, co-ordinating and administering all Appeal-related activity. Reporting to the Major Gifts Manager, you will work closely with all Fundraising Income Stream Managers, as well as the Communications and Finance teams.

You will have excellent organisational, project and financial planning skills. We are flexible on candidate background and able to consider people from a range of sectors, although experience within the military charity sector and/or mental health is highly desirable. We are looking for drive, energy and passion, as well as exceptional communication and diplomacy skills and the ability to expertly engage internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through compelling writing.

The post is offered as a two-year contract (commencing August 2018), with the possibility of extending subject to review.
