At Healthwatch Essex, we have created a ‘one-stop shop’ to provide information about health and social care to the people of Essex.

The Information and Signposting Service Lead will provide operational leadership to the development and delivery of an information and signposting service that helps people to access, navigate and understand health and social care in Essex. This involves constantly developing the current telephone-based service, and exploiting new opportunities for outreach . It also involves building on our existing partnerships and realising the potential of statutory- and voluntary-sector partners working better together in the interests of the people of Essex. This includes opportunities to share data and information across the whole of health and social care.

This role requires an effective leader and engaging communicator, with good written and verbal skills, and comfortable in the company of others. You will have a vision for the new HWE information and signposting service, perhaps grounded in your experience in providing information, advice or guidance within a statutory or voluntary sector organisation. You will be capable of building effective relationships and networks with individuals and organisations, including volunteers. You may also have experience translating evidence of people’s experiences into useful intelligence to inform service design and delivery in the NHS and social care.

You will also be enthusiastic about working within a small and ambitious team, with a demonstrable regard for the values and principles of Healthwatch Essex and a willingness to work flexibly to achieve the organisation’s strategic objectives.
