About the opportunity

We are looking for an internal auditor to provide independent, professional assurance services on the finance processes at Amnesty International Limited.

The auditor will shape the internal audit function in the London office from start to finish; working with the Finance and Audit committee to identify risks, agree the audit plan, carry out internal audit reviews and report back the findings.

The proposed audit cycle will be for 12-16 weeks per annum commencing in 2018, with the option to extend to an annual basis subject to satisfactory performance and annual review. The actual quantity in the initial year will be dependent on auditor and Amnesty staff availability in 2018 following the conclusion of the procurement process.

About you

You will be an experienced internal auditor, having a proven track record providing assurance services within the NFP sector. You will be able to work independently, and with key stakeholders within Amnesty to shape the internal audit function in London and carry out audits.

About us

For the past 50 years Amnesty International (AI) has brought people together to fight for human rights.

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We reach almost every country in the world and have:

  • more than 2 million members and supporters who drive forward our fight for rights
  • more than 5 million activists who strengthen our calls for justice

Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they're denied. And whether we're applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.

What we hope you will do next

If you are talented, passionate about human rights and want to use your skills, knowledge and experience to change the world then we would encourage you to include answers to the following questions:

  • Please briefly describe your experience designing and delivering internal audit assurance within the NFP sector (Max 200 words).
  • Please briefly describe what you think you could bring to Amnesty (Max 200 words).

Please also provide the auditor's CV and details of availability in 2018.

Please submit answers by 20th July 2018.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to provide a proposal for audit services.
