Combat Stress are looking for a highly motivated individual to become part of their Individual Giving Team. Supporter Care is at the heart of all we do in Fundraising and this role is pivotal in that. You will be the first point of contact for all our regular donors and will be responsible for providing a high standard of customer service. You will report into the Senior Supporter Care Officer and will process all charity donations through Direct Debit, Standing Order and Payroll. You will also provide support for general administration duties, help to maintain individual donor records and support the charity’s donor development programme.

The chosen candidate for this role will have a keen eye for detail and possess excellent organisational skills. You will need to be approachable, responsive and work well within a team.  Furthermore, you should have good customer service experience and have a working knowledge of Microsoft office. Also, you should be able to apply a common-sense approach to solving day-to-day problems. 3-6 months’ experience in using a database (we currently use Raiser’s Edge) and Excel would be an advantage.

Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, we’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.

Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So, when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to take on the future.

What we offer
You will work within a charity that has a fantastic cause and committed follower base.

In addition, we offer the following benefits:

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, with an increase upon 5 years of continuous service

  • Childcare vouchers
  • Discount shopping
  • Free on-site parking or shuttle from Leatherhead Station
  • Cycle to work scheme

Company

Combat Stress is a registered charity in the United Kingdom offering therapeutic and clinical community and residential treatment to former members of the British Armed Forces who are suffering from a range of mental health conditions; including post traumatic stress disorder.

Our aim is to treat veterans’ symptoms and improve their quality of life. We want to help veterans tackle their past and take on the future.

Veterans with complex mental health conditions need a specialist team made up of different mental health professionals to help them and we provide this. Our clinicians work closely with each other and the veteran to develop a treatment plan that best suits their needs.

We directly employ our own clinical staff to provide our highly specialised treatment to UK veterans at our centres in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our treatment is available online, in the community, through outpatient appointments and also on a residential basis when required.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver specialist treatment for veterans with complex mental health needs, whilst supporting their families and network, to help them tackle the past and take on their future.

Our vision is for all former servicemen and women with complex mental health problems to live full and meaningful lives.

Our Values

Together: We are united in purpose, collaborative in action.

Focused: We're clear about what we will and won't do to deliver the best outcomes.

Bold: We'll do and say what we must to achieve our organisation's vision.

Personal: We respect diversity and appreciate everyone's individual needs and talents.
