Job Details

Prospectus is excited to be working with The Royal Medical Benevolent Fund (RMBF), the UK's leading charity for doctors, medical students and their families, to help recruit their new Community and Events Fundraising Officer. Last year the RMBF celebrated 180 years of providing support to medical professionals in times of hardship resulting from illness, injury and bereavement.

The Community and Events Fundraising Officer will be responsible for working with groups and individuals in the medical profession who have a passion for supporting doctors and medical students in times of crisis. This includes aspiring and current medical students, GPs and specialty doctors, and employee fundraisers working for corporate partners. The organisation is looking for someone who in their first year can test a number of new digital channels and promote engagement with individual supporters through challenge events, supporter led engagements, bespoke fundraisers and other community led activities. The second year would then involve building on the roster of events and engagements to help expand the work of the organisation.

In addition to supporter acquisition and relationship management, the Community and Events Fundraising Officer will assist with administration, planning and delivery of wider organisation and departmental fundraising events. As part of a small team, you will also have the opportunity to broaden your expertise, where Community and Fundraising Events intersect with national awareness campaigns, charity communications and other large events. You will also work closely with the Volunteer Programme Manager to help inform their 250+ charity volunteers about activities and initiatives happening at regional level.

You will have a passion for supporting doctors in times of crisis and building strong relationships with fundraisers who share in those aims. From your existing experience, you will have the ability to develop a calendar of varied events and will have knowledge of how to engage with individual supporters to exceed your fundraising target in year two. They are looking for someone with the motivation to make a difference and a track record that shows you have the ability to step into the role.
