A social welfare charity is looking for a Social Media Business Partner to join their London Office on a one year fixed term contract (Maternity Cover). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of an organisation-wide strategy on the use of social media as an effective tool to engage staff, volunteers and the public, and achieve the organisations strategic objectives.

The role includes direct line-management of 2 staff.

  • Be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a 5-year organisational social media channel strategy that outlines the effective use of social media across all areas of the business, in line with the Marketing Strategy, Media Engagement Strategy, Content Strategy and Business Plan.
  • Set clear and challenging KPIs to ensure the organisation uses social media in the most effective way across its owned channels, including customer experience, advocacy and volunteer networks.
  • Collaborate at a strategic and operational level with external and internal stakeholders to translate business requirements and objectives into social media solutions.
  • Be accountable for identifying and managing key strategic communications risks and opportunities associated with social media use across the organisation, including the social media aspect of crisis communication planning and management.
  • Work with the Strategic Content Manager, Insight and Data teams to commission and analyse market research into online behaviour to inform social media and content strategies and help improve current social media campaign and product delivery.
  • Working with Learning & Development colleagues, Digital Transformation and other key internal stakeholders, be accountable for the adoption of best practice social media use across the organisation.
  • Drive social media excellence across the organisation, influencing and persuading senior managers to us social media to achieve their own departmental goals.
  • Manage and lead the organisations specialist social media team to deliver the objectives of the content, media engagement and social media strategies and ultimately change audience behaviour.
  • Manage the social media team's budget including procurement and management of external agencies and technology as appropriate to your area of work.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree level or equivalent experience in a professional communications or PR environment.
  • Demonstrable experience working in social media, marketing, public relations or corporate communications.
  • Demonstrable experience of creating and delivering social media communications plans and strategies
  • Demonstrable ability to build effective collaborative relationships, internally and externally, manage senior stakeholders and work as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Relevant and up to date knowledge of a broad spectrum of communications, external communications developments and professional best practice, especially in social media.
  • Substantial experience of leading talented, agile and resilient teams by creating an inspiring vision combined with a can-do attitude
