Job Details

Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. The role of Head of Challenge Events is pivotal to funding that care and we are extremely proud that a number of our events are growing year on year.

The Head of Challenge Events will oversee three vital functions within Shooting Star Chase:
• Oversee and support our portfolio of successful bespoke events including our flagship Sunrise Walk and a very exciting new event for March 2019
• Oversee and support our third party events programme including events such as the London Marathon, Ride100, Royal Parks Half Marathon and London Landmarks Half Marathon
• Oversee and help develop our Choose your Own Challenge programme of individuals taking on their own challenge for Shooting Star Chase

Shooting Star Chase’s portfolio of existing events delivers a significant proportion of our sustainable income, which this role will be responsible for maintaining and building upon. Further to this, the Head of Challenge Events will work closely with the Communications & Marketing team to also develop and implement strong participant stewardship plans, as well as marketing plans aimed at maximising entrants taking part in all events with specific audience targeting.

Company

Shooting Star CHASE employs around 200 staff and we recruit a wide variety of people from nurses to fundraisers. We offer 27 days holiday per year, a generous stakeholder pension scheme or recognition of the NHS pension scheme, childcare vouchers, flexible working, and an employee assistance programme. We are always on the lookout for talented and caring people who want to make a difference to local families.
We have offices and hospices in Guildford and Hampton and offer care in the community across western London, Surrey and Sussex and need staff across our full catchment area.

As a charity, our aim is to deliver highly professional services which place children and teenagers with life limiting conditions at the heart of everything we do.
