A charity are looking for a Project Coordinator to support the delivery of a popular project for older people with particular emphasis on the volunteering elements and ensuring that older people using the project feel an increased sense of community, become more active, experiencing improved physical/mental health because of their engagement. and feel less lonley or isolated.


Key Responsibilities:
-Project Coordination - Organise, manage and support programme activities such as the Walking Club, Cinema Club etc
-Coordinate and manage twice-yearly membership surveys: design/produce, organise distribution, collate and analyse results
-Publicity/mailouts - Maintain regular communication with scheme members via weekly emails and texts, produce twice-yearly newsletters and cover letters
-Assist in the organisation of the Group, ensuring that meetings are chaired, minutes processed, and agendas distributed within agreed timeframes
-Recruit older people to the scheme via mailouts, phone networking and publicity stalls at events and work alongside other organisations to recruit new members
-Ensure that the project fully complies with all CCA policies, especially those concerning health and safety, protection of vulnerable older people and equal opportunities
-Policy development and internal communication - Develop a written statement to make clear why volunteers are involved in the project and ensure that volunteers are included in organisational policies where relevant, and that staff and volunteers understand how these policies and procedures relate to volunteers.
-Identify suitable volunteering opportunities including identifying new ways in which volunteers acna be involved and recruitment of new volunteers
-Training and induction of volunteers and volunteer management including organising thank you events, supervision etc.
-Volunteer Health and safety - Ensure that all activities, excursions and volunteering activities are risk assessed, and steps are taken to minimise risk.
-Monitoring and evaluation of the work of volunteers


Skills and Experience required:
-At least two years' experience working with older people or within a charity.
-Demonstrable record of delivering a wide range of older people's activities, events and excursions from inception through to completion.
-Experience of carrying out administrational tasks to a high level.
-Have strong IT skills and be able to use MSOffice and CRM systems.
-Experience in using the internet e.g. researching excursions and volunteer opportunities etc.
-Some knowledge and experience of safeguarding older people and vulnerable adults and a willingness to complete regular safeguarding training.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to be able to communicate with a wide variety of customer groups both internally and externally.
-Experience of managing volunteers and all work related to this.
-Ability to implement and follow Health and Safety policy and procedures.
-Proven ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with older people from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
