Job Details

We are recruiting for a Grants Finance Officer to join us and play a key role in the delivery of our grant programme by keeping our grants management system (Grant Tracker) up to date with new grant awards, payments and grant closures.

You'll ensure costs are reconciled with the Finance system and deal with queries from colleagues and external organisations in relation to the financial aspects of grants. Working closely with the BHF Finance team, in particular working with the Finance Business Partner team, you'll use the information on our finance systems (SUN) to resolve queries and support the team to use the system.

It's an exciting time in the team as there is an opportunity to contribute ideas for improvements to current processes and be involved in a review of how technology should be used to support grant awards in the future.

About you

With familiarity with accounting systems, such as SUN, you'll be able to raise Purchase Orders and check whether invoices have been paid. You'll have an understanding of key finance concepts (accruals, prepayments, liabilities, cashflow etc) and awareness of grants management.

You'll have previous experience working in a finance/administrative role as well as experience working in a role with specific responsibilities as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. With excellent communication skills, you'll be able to liaise with colleagues across the organisation and be able to develop excellent relationships with the team.

Experienced in using complex databases you'll be able to work independently and be a proactive member of the team. You'll also have excellent attention to detail and accuracy and strong time management skills ensuring that all work is completed on time.
