Job Details

A great opportunity has arisen for a temporary Digital Communications Officer (3 months contract) for a disabled related charity in order to provide expertise in digital communications and marketing for the charity. The Digital Communications Officer will lead on the more technical aspects of the team s work. This will include day to day maintenance of the websites, management of the intranet, implementation of Analytics, running two Google Ad Grants accounts, providing support on email marketing, and running paid advertising across platforms such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, Taboola, Outbrain and Reddit.


Key Responsibilities will include:

Maintain and update the charity s websites and the intranet using Umbraco, Drupal, Wordpress and Interact.
Create and populate webpages, including forms and other functionality, and be able to make HTML and CSS tweaks.
Manage the intranet, dealing with a busy inbox of enquiries and supporting colleagues across the organisation to provide information, updates and stories.
Lead on testing and quality assurance and work with colleagues in other teams (e.g. Fundraising Data) to ensure that functionality is correct.
Act as a contact point with support agencies to swiftly resolve issues and to follow up developments.
Proactively manage Google Ad Grants accounts
Look after the implementation of Google Analytics as well as other tracking and marketing tags using Google Tag Manager.
Maintain location listings using Google My Business and Google Maps
Work closely with the Digital & Social Media Officer to daily manage a busy inbox of requests alongside other projects, sharing work amongst the team and supporting each other.
Participate as an active member of the Communications department, working in collaboration with colleagues in other departments to deliver charity s strategic objectives.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Significant experience in (a) similar digital communications role(s).
Using complex CMSes to manage, update, maintain and improve websites (including managing data, creating forms and building pages)
Liaising with digital support agencies.
Testing website development updates ahead of implementation.
Managing a Google Ad Grants account.
Using Google Tag Manager to manage, update and troubleshoot tags (such as Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel).
Using an email marketing system (such as TT-Mail and Dotmailer) to manage lists, create campaigns and templates, HTML and plain text emails.
Setting up and managing campaigns and budgets using paid, programmatic search, social, native and display advertising services (such as Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, Taboola, Outbrain, Reddit).
Working as part of a close digital communications team, sharing work on projects and ad hoc daily tasks.
Understanding good practice for the web including WCAG accessibility standards.
Understanding and editing HTML and CSS
Desirable
Using Umbraco, Drupal, Wordpress and Interact.
Managing an intranet.
Using a ticketing system (such as Assembla) to raise and monitor issues with agencies.
Maintaining location listings using Google My Business and Google Maps.
Providing training and support for colleagues.
Managing corporate social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, and using management services such as Sprout.
Working in the charity sector.
