Location: Leicester, Leicestershire (Commutable from Loughborough, Kettering, Coventry and surrounding areas)

About the role: 

A fantastic opportunity reporting to the recently appointed Head of HR. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the Organisational Development, Workforce Monitoring and Resourcing functions, whilst driving forward key organisational and localised development initiatives and overseeing the planning, delivery, evaluation and embedding of these interventions. 

Organisational culture, leadership and performance management are key priorities for our client, with a focus on the development and retention of key talent across the authority. The post-holder will be pivotal in identifying and shaping culture, promoting the authority’s vision of operating with creativity and drive for the benefit of Leicester and its people and embedding their new Leadership Qualities. The role will manage the development of corporate programmes, including; succession planning and resourcing strategies, promoting the use of management information in decision making and taking the lead in supporting significant organisational transformation. This involves working closely with the Head of HR and other HR functions in alignment with the authority’s Vision and Values. 

This is a critical, hands-on role focusing on the organisations agenda to retain and develop talent in order to create a high performing, professional culture. The emphasis will be on meeting and managing relationships with senior stakeholders to diagnose needs; designing and delivering Organisational Development interventions to develop leaders, managers and staff both service wide and in individual teams. The post-holder will lead and inspire the Organisational Development & Resourcing team to deliver initiatives that add real value. This role additionally has a broad scope of responsibility both for leadership development and the delivery of general learning and development activities to meet changing priorities and specialisms.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about what they do, be resilient and positive with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders. They will be experienced in Organisational Development diagnostic and delivery, with an innovative and creative approach. 

The successful candidate may be looking for the next stage in their career development, in a large and challenging multi-functional environment. Team management experience is not essential as the Head of HR is willing to offer support and mentoring.
