Job Details

Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an exciting period of growth in a fantastic charity for young people? The Avenues Youth Project is a lively and forward-thinking charity providing much needed activities for young people from North Kensington, North Westminster and South Brent since 1979.

We no longer receive public funding so the development of income from other sources like trusts and foundations is essential if we are to continue to thrive as a place of support to some of London’s most ‘at risk’ young people.

Helping children access life-changing services, the Fundraising Manager is a hands-on role and you will become part of a new fundraising team comprising the Director and two experienced volunteers.  You will have a proven track record of success in fundraising for similar sized charities and, with plenty of scope to develop the trusts and foundations income stream, you will be required to make a step-change for the charity in securing future income.

Funders we have approached have been extremely warm to us, some saying they had been waiting on our application for some time.  And we have been told by fundraising consultants that we are ripe for attracting new streams of funding.  This is a really exciting opportunity for an innovative and motivated fundraiser to deliver a transformational outcome for an important long-standing charity in the heart of west London.

Company

New Avenues is a youth charity formed in 1979 to support children aged 8-18 to access opportunities that might not otherwise be afforded to them.  Through our bespoke centre in London's W10, designed for and by young people in the early 2000s, we provide stimulating activities to support informal education, vocational experiences, and a safe space in which to socialise and develop.  Through music-making, dance and cookery our expert youth workers are able to engage young people and help them navigate their way through childhood and adolescence to become happy and independent young adults.
