Thames Reach is a leading London-based charity helping homeless and vulnerable people to find decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. The charity provides innovative services aimed at prevention, stabilisation, and recovery, by providing a range of services including homelessness prevention, street outreach, accommodation, tenancy support, and help with employment.

As well as pan-London and local services working with rough sleepers, current responsibilities include accommodation, floating support and day services, including innovative partnerships with local authority and health services.

 

Role

The Director of Operations is responsible for the direction, development, operation, quality and outcomes of all operational teams. As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) s/he shares responsibility for the strategic direction of the organisation, and enables Thames Reach to achieve its stated aims and objectives. The post-holder will have lead responsibility for key external relationships including central and local government members, commissioners, board members and committee members.

 

This is a 12 month assignment.

 

The Person

 

Candidates should demonstrate experience of overseeing a broad range of operational services e.g. Outreach, Hostels, Housing, Prevention, Operational and Mental Health services. As a senior team member, you will have a collaborative approach to supporting colleagues and have the ability to produce and present concise and informative written reports, including bid writing.

 

Strong negotiation, procurement, commissioning and contract management skills are essential along with having the ability to provide strategic direction in the context of a complex and ever-changing operating environment.
