Sussex Community Foundation raises money for, and provides grants to charities and community groups in East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. They offer a bespoke charitable giving service, cultivating and working with high-net-worth individuals, companies and charitable trusts to enable them to support the local causes they care about. We are delighted to be working together to recruit a Philanthropy Manager to join the team.
Sussex Community Foundation gives out around £2 million in grants every year and has raised an endowment fund of £17 million. They support several hundred groups each year. These include food banks, homeless projects, mental health groups and many more which address disadvantage and build stronger communities.
They work with donors who are passionate about Sussex. These include individuals and families as well as large organisations such as American Express, Comic Relief, Gatwick Airport and the Rampion Offshore Windfarm. Success is based on the ability to build long-term relationships and an in-depth understanding of the community across Sussex.
This role will play a key part in supporting ambitious plans for the future and will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Chief Executive in attracting new donors and providing an excellent service to existing and potential donors.
The successful candidate is likely to have a strong track record of fundraising, but the most important characteristics are the ability to build warm, professional and effective relationships with high-net-worth-individuals and their advisors.
Interviews for this role will take place on Tuesday 17th July 2018
