Job Details

An International Development charity based in London are looking to recruit a Web Development Specialist.

Working on a full-time, permanent basis your role will be to create great user experience across the organisations digital properties, designing and building features and applications that helps the organisation increase online income, attract and retain supporters and support delivery of the digital strategy.

Key skills required for the role are HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Whilst UX and UI design experience are a benefit, you don't have to be an expert in this area, the organisation are happy to train you up as neccesary. Most importantly, they are looking for someone whith a positive mentality and a good work ethic 

Essential:

  • Strong UX and UI design experience and proven knowledge of principles of user-centred design, usability and accessibility
  • Experience of Agile development and designing iteratively for continuous optimisation
  • Experience of designing and developing responsive websites, following a mobile first philosophy.
  • Experience building websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Experience of creating and modifying templates for a CMS or development framework.
  • Experience of testing for browser and device compatibility, accessibility and optimising technical performance
  • Experience of web development using PHP
  • Experience of using code repository or version control system.
  • Experience of writing technical documentation.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising own workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and experience of advising/supporting staff from a wide range of backgrounds in development of online channels
  • Proactive team player adept at advising, influencing and negotiating with individuals or teams.
  • Wide knowledge of best practice in digital communications including usability and accessibility standards, and search engine optimisation.
