Trustees for Main Board and for Shops Board

Want to make a real difference locally? St Luke’s Hospice is looking for new Trustees

Joining St Luke’s provides a great opportunity to use your skills for a worthwhile cause, to give something back to the community, and be part of the leadership of a prestigious local charity. You will influence the quality of life of people in the last phase of their lives and support our 900 volunteers and 150 staff in delivering our exceptional care.

We have ambitious plans to extend our services to even more people and to grow our £3.5m fundraising and retail income to fund our work. Last year over 1,000 people in Harrow and Brent, and their families, benefited from our expert care.

If you share our passion to support people at this key time, or to advise our Shops Board, then we want to hear from you. For the Main Board we are particularly seeking applications from people with skills and experience in healthcare, health policy, marketing, and law well as anybody with a strong interest in end of life care. Our independent Shops Board is looking for people with current expertise in retail strategy and planning.

If you wish to find out more please call Dee Holden on 020 8382 8002.  She will also reserve you a place at our Open Evening on Monday 2nd July 2018.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 4th July 2018

Formal Interviews:  Week commencing  16th July 2018

Company

St Luke’s Hospice is committed to improving the quality of life for those with advanced progressive illnesses no longer responsive to cure and either have such complex needs as to be best met by a specialist palliative care service or have an expected prognosis of less than one year. It provides support to patients, and extends support to those people important to them whilst maintaining their dignity and respect. In addition the hospice provides expertise, education and support to the professional health and social care community.

St Luke’s Hospice cares for all those approaching the end of their life in Harrow and Brent. We aim to give the people we care for the best possible quality of life, each and every day. Supporting local people and their families is at the heart of what we do – making every moment matter at the most difficult time.

The care we give is free of charge, available to all, and is given with the utmost compassion and dignity.   Approximately 70% of the cost of St Luke’s services is funded by our fundraising and retail income; through our community making donations, taking part in events, supporting our shops and making gifts in wills. Everything we do is about people and relationships, and the community we serve is one of the most culturally diverse in the UK, supported by the dedication of a team of incredible volunteers
