Prospectus is excited to be partnering with a sports charity to source their new Senior Communications Manager to lead and deliver the corporate communications and PR/media strategy for the charity. The organisation are focused on promoting opportunities for sports and physical activity through advocacy, information and education, research, training and campaigning for policy change.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Communications, the Senior Communications Manager will be responsible for the development, project management and implementation of the organisation's communications. This will include the corporate and digital communications, marketing, public awareness and their fundraising campaigns. The Senior Communications Manager will directly line manage the Campaigns Officer and Project Manager. Day to day duties will include budget management, drafting media responses, press releases and statement. You will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the impact of all marketing, communications and campaign activity. In addition you will develop compelling key messages and narratives for speeches, presentations and reports. The placed candidate will have two direct reports, Campaigns Manager and the Communications Officer.
To be considered for this role, it is essential to have substantial experience within marketing and communications, with knowledge of leading and developing a marketing and communications strategy including corporate communications. Experience of marketing to a wide range of audiences, including fundraisers and donors is also essential and you must have experience of line managing a small team. This role requires you to have a solid understanding of proactive and reactive media relations, as well as online marketing and communications tools, including social media, and website CMS management. Experience of working within the sports sector is desirable.
