We’re looking for a talented, dynamic Chief Executive to lead the Welsh Centre for International Affairs (WCIA) through the next chapter of our exciting story.
Committed to strong strategic leadership, you will be able to build the partnerships and programmes that will take our charity through the next 5 years and beyond. You’ll also be a highly credible ambassador for the WCIA, championing our work in public and across multiple networks.
You will have a strong interest in global issues, and a personal commitment to what drives us – human rights, peace, international development, and the power of individuals and communities to make a difference.
About the WCIA
The WCIA's vision is that everyone in Wales contributes to creating a fairer, more peaceful world. To achieve this, our mission is to inspire learning and action on global issues.
The WCIA was founded in 1973 and works across Wales. Our work falls into three key areas:
- Global learning. The foundation of our work – we inspire people to care about global issues through providing seminal experiences and local role models, then build the self-belief, confidence and skills they need to act on those issues. We focus particularly on younger people, with the aim of fostering a generation in Wales empowered to make a difference.
- Globally responsible communities. Working in partnership within communities and institutions, we support people to come together to act locally, within their community or workplace, on the global issues that matter most to them.
- Grassroots international development. We develop the capacity of organisations and individuals in Wales who do international development work – primarily in Africa but with ambitions to expand – to work effectively towards the Sustainable Development Goals in Wales and the world.
