Young People’s Social Worker 

Every day, 11 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Our client is the UK's leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, and provides them with clinical, practical, emotional and financial support. You can be a part of helping them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. 

Job title: Young People's Social Worker 
Location: Bristol - Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre 
Contract: Full - time, fixed term contract. 12 months maternity cover 
Hours: 35 per week 
Salary: £33,093 per annum

About the role: 

This post will provide a direct social work service to young people aged 16-24 with cancer who live in Bristol and around the surrounding counties. 

They are looking for an experienced professional, qualified in social work with some knowledge and experience around this specialist area of work. 

About you: 

As well as current HCPC registration you will have: 

-Significant experience of working young people and their families/carers in a social care setting 
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
-Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment 
-Knowledge of child and young people development 
-An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and families. 
-It is desirable that you have experience working in an NHS setting.
