St Gemma’s Hospice is the largest hospice in Yorkshire and one of the largest in the UK.  The Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care, in a quality environment, for thousands of local people each year.  We are a prominent and respected charity at the heart of the local community with a large range of specialist services to support patients, their families and friends.

Working for St Gemma’s can offer a rewarding career in a friendly environment.  Over 250 staff across a 4 acre site, 24 Charity Shops and a Retail Hub work together to ensure that patients and their families have the best possible experience and receive the highest quality of care.

Are you a natural story teller? Are you passionate about the difference that hospice care makes to patients and their loved ones? Do you believe in giving trusts and foundations the best possible care so that they feel connected to St Gemma’s and will want to continue their support over many years? Would you like to join the Supporter Engagement Team and use your skills to raise vital funds for patients?

This year, St Gemma’s has a fundraising target of more than £6 million. We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join the busy and successful Supporter Engagement Team. You will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of current and new trusts, foundations and grant giving bodies in order to help increase funding significantly from this income stream.

You will also develop relevant funding proposals and write copy for cash asks.  Previous experience in fundraising is desirable but not essential. You will need excellent computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.

It is essential that you have the ability to plan effectively and meet tight deadlines. You will be responsible for delivering challenging income budgets and keeping tight control of expenditure.

You will occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.

Ability to drive and use of a car is essential.

If you are a passionate and committed individual then St Gemma’s wants you to join their team.  We offer a competitive benefits package including free car parking and subsidised meals.

For informal enquiries please contact Tracie Harrison, Head of Supporter Engagement on 0113 218 5588
