Prospectus is pleased to be collaborating with The Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, a leading UK charity for the medical profession. Last year they celebrated 180 years of providing support and advice to doctors, medical students and their families in times of crisis. With the aim of making a big difference to the lives of even more people, they are currently looking to recruit a Grants Caseworker to join their friendly and enthusiastic team. Demonstrating their flexibility, this role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis.
Joining the organisation at an exciting time of growth, as Grants Caseworker you will be responsible for contributing towards the efficient delivery of the RMBF's Casework Programme, ensuring that the department provides timely and effective support to doctors, medical students and their families. Reporting to the Casework Manager, you will effectively provide advice and guidance to individuals through the grants application process as well as sign posting to appropriate sources of support. Finally, you will work closely with, and provide support to, the Grants & Awards Committee to ensure they are provided with the relevant information and reports.
To be considered, you must be an excellent team-player who will pitch-in when needed whilst also taking responsibility for your own workload to ensure the provision of consistent and appropriate support. Due to the nature of the work, you must also be able to write well with excellent attention to detail, have strong administrative skills and be a good and sympathetic listener. Finally, knowledge of grant-making and experience of dealing with individuals facing personal crises is desirable as is an understanding of welfare benefits.
