Non-Executive Director of iCo (Islington Company)

iCo (short for Islington Company) is the trading arm of Islington Council.

iCo is looking for a Non-Executive Director to bring commercial expertise to its Board to help grow the company by generating revenue from existing and new business ideas. iCo is still relatively new and the Board is seeking the support of an experienced, commercially-minded individual to advise on setting commercial targets and objectives, enhancing leadership and ensuring there is effective governance and control.

We are looking for someone who has successfully grown and developed businesses, with the commercial acumen that this demands. Whether you are from the private, voluntary or public sector, it is your commercial and business experience that is of interest to us.

As a wholly owned company of the London Borough of Islington, we share the values of our shareholder in its pursuit of a Fairer Islington - in particular, we are committed to inclusive economic growth, recognising the diverse nature of our community. The income generated by iCo is ploughed back into services which make a difference locally, tackling poverty and reducing inequality in our borough. If you have the skills we are looking for, and if the prospect of supporting our fairness agenda through creating and building commercial opportunities motivates you, then please apply.

For an informal discussion and more details about the role please contact our advising consultant at Morgan Hunt Executive, Smita Rai on 07391 680216 or 020 7419 8921.

We will be inviting interested candidates to apply by sending a CV and a supporting statement detailing why you believe you are suitable for this role and how you meet the person specification to Smita Rai.

The closing date for applications is on Monday 11th June and initial meetings will take place in London from Monday 25th June. A final panel interview will be held in early July.
