Established in 2017, the CareTech Charitable Foundation is an independent grant-making corporate foundation registered with the Charity Commission. Funded and founded by CareTech plc, the Foundation has an independent Board of Trustees responsible for delivering its Charitable Objects.

The Foundation has ambitious and clear-sighted objectives to deliver meaningful impact to communities in the UK and overseas about which the staff of CareTech plc and its service users feel proud and strongly engaged, providing a unique contribution to the charitable marketplace consistent with CareTech plc's values and approach.

We are seeking to appoint a third external Trustee to join our impressive Board and work in partnership with the Chief Executive and the staff team to take the organisation to the next stage of growth.

You will share the same ethos, passion and drive to develop the organisation, by supporting its ambitions for innovation and development. You will provide strong leadership and direction to the Foundation, ensuring that good governance and clear strategic direction is at the core of our activities. You will have an ability to constructively challenge and will be proud to be part of the organisation.

You will bring key strengths in at least one of these areas: governance, strategy, finance, HR, fundraising, grant- giving. Ideally you will have experience of operating within a Board in a charitable or public sector organisation, and you must have held a senior role that demonstrates your skills and abilities in one of the key areas mentioned.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and your ability to collaborate effectively will be crucial, and you must be able to prove a track record of sound and effective decision making.

You should be available for a minimum of four Trustee meetings in year, a strategy day and additional meetings as required. Being a Trustee of CareTech Foundation requires strong commitment but it is also an extremely rewarding experience.
