This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in leading and managing the Policy function in shaping this charity's welfare and employment policy development plans and continuing to build their expertise and influence to realise the potential of technology for people with MS.

Position: Policy Manager (Welfare and Technology)
Cricklewood, NW London
Salary: £37,120 - £42,317
Department: External Affairs

This charity puts people affected by MS at the centre of everything they do, and it’s this commitment that unites them across the UK. Their vision is a world free from the effects of MS. Their ultimate goal is to find a cure, but until then, they will do all that they can to enable people with MS to live life, knowing that they do not have to face MS alone.

With their new five year organisational strategy it’s an exciting time to join the charity. The strategy is based on what people affected by MS have told the organisation is important to them, and this gives a clear and determined focus. They have big aspirations and they need to attract brilliant new people to help them achieve their ambitious goals.

Ideal for an established public policy professional ready for a strategic role working with a range of internal and external stakeholders. At the heart of the role will be working closely with colleagues in the External Relations and Campaigns teams to shape and realise their policy calls through the mobilisation of the MS community.

The Policy Manager will be armed with a broad knowledge of welfare and employment policy issues and their impact on people living with MS, a positive, can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate a successful track record of securing policy change and influencing policy makers at a UK, national or local level.

Knowledge of the use of technology in health, self-care and employment settings is desirable, but candidates with a strong appetite to grow into this element of the portfolio will be considered.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and friendly team at a key stage as they look to secure key changes to welfare and employment policy and improve the use of technology in the lives of people affected by MS.

They offer 27 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) a 35 hour working week, travel loan and various other benefits such as supported developmental opportunities.
