Responsible to: The Chief Executive who will oversee and provide leadership to ensure that client relationships are effectively developed and marketing and communication activities are effective and efficient and aligned with strategic objectives

JOB PURPOSE:  To create deliver and take ultimate responsibility for a marketing and business engagement strategy that will enable Education for Health to achieve its business plan, financial targets and other key performance indicators and to grow the Charity’s brand, profile and reputation.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and deliver a marketing strategy for existing and new products
  • Create and deliver a business engagement strategy
  • Lead the project management, planning, budgeting, execution and evaluation of marketing events and activities
  • Lead all external communications (print and digital) events attendance and PR activity
  • Develop the charity’s brand and image and act as its brand guardian
  • Lead on reputation management and manage crisis communications
  • Responsible for the development of all marketing channels and material – print and digital
  • Maintain up to date understanding of our competitors, the NHS and external environment
  • Lead the marketing team and be responsible for its performance, direction and staff
  • Be an active member of the Senior Management and Business Development Teams
  • Maintain knowledge of marketing developments, opportunities and best practices
  • Ensure use of data is aligned to current data protection and PECR legislation
  • Lead on internal communications to ensure strategic messages are disseminated
  • Make recommendations for the future positioning and marketing of the charity’s portfolio and future market opportunities
  • Responsible for creating and nurturing the engagement of businesses with an interest in supporting the education, training and development of healthcare professionals; obtaining their support (financial and otherwise)

Person specification:

Essential Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • At least three years’ senior management experience; experience of leading a marketing team to meet financial targets and of building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Successful marketing track record in a complex environment
  • Ability to create and lead strong and effective cross channel marketing campaigns to achieve financial targets
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Budget management and commercial awareness, reporting against KPIs
  • Strategic thinker,decision maker
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage numerous projects and deliver to deadlines
  • The ability to engage with a wide range of stake holders(internal and external) and to develop effective relationships
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Creativity and innovation

Qualifications

  • Professional marketing/communications qualifications (essential)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)

Salary and benefits

  • Full time
  • Pension scheme with 6% employer contribution
  • Salary: Circa £45K
  • Flexible working will be considered.
