Assistant Director, Community & Events Fundraising
We’re Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity – and we’re dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease. We believe that if we all act now, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and live well.
This exciting role will maximise net income and supporter engagement from Community and Events supporters to enable Breast Cancer Now to deliver its vision of making breast cancer a survivable disease by 2050. The role will be responsible for growing income from community supporters (individuals and groups organising their own fundraising in aid of Breast Cancer Now), student groups and challenge event participants (runs, bike rides, treks, skydives and extreme challenges). Breast Cancer Now takes a relationship fundraising approach, understanding the personal motivations our supporters have and enabling them to raise money in the way that works best for them. We want every Community and Events supporter to have a great experience with Breast Cancer Now.
This is a permanent role which will be vacant from mid July 2018. However, the post is also offered on a short-term basis from mid-July for an expected three months with an option to extend to cover the period until a permanent post holder is appointed. We are happy to talk to candidates interested in either role.
We are seeking an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Director to lead our committed and skilled Community and Events Fundraising team of 21. Your brief is to galvanise the huge potential of our supporters in these areas and help us make the step change in income which will drive the necessary research discoveries to help save lives. This is an opportunity for the right individual to make a transformational impact on our fundraising performance.
