A small, but highly regarding independent charity focused on peace making and human rights is seeking a skilled Finance Officer for a role in their central London Office.

The job will involve:

- To contribute to maintaining effective financial processing and control, and the production of useful financial information. This includes recording all income and expenditure accurately, performing monthly reconciliation of control accounts and overseeing the authorization of invoices and expenses

- To support the submission of timely grant reports and grants management to donors who fund the charity in line with their requirements

-Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into Sage 50 Accounts

-Manage and reconcile the accounts payable and accounts receivable

-Process payable invoices and staff expenses

-Perform monthly supplier account reconciliations

-Reconcile the monthly bank statements for review by the Head of Finance

-Assist with the annual audit

-Maintain electronic copies of all supplier and consultant contracts and documentation

-Collate financial information for reporting to donors on grants received

-Prepare financial reports on grants from donors in accordance with their requirements

-Monitor expenditure on programmes funded from restricted income

Candidate requirements:

-Minimum 3 years' experience in relevant comparable roles within the charity sector

-A qualification in bookkeeping or accountancy such as AAT

-An understanding of charity finance

-Proficiency in managing accounts payable effectively and expeditiously

-Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

-Previous experience of SAGE 50 accounting software

-Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work under pressure and react quickly and calmly during difficult situations

-Diplomatic telephone and interpersonal skills

-Team player, enthusiastic and approachable;
