The British Allergy Foundation, trading as Allergy UK, is the only charity patient organisation that offers support for everyone affected by allergy.  We work with patients, healthcare professionals, corporate partners and advisory groups to ensure that everyone affected by allergy receives the best possible care and support.

We have ambitious plans for the future including significant growth and raising our profile towards our key strategic objective of having the means to reach and support every one of the 21 million allergy sufferers in the UK.   To help us achieve this aim we need to develop our voluntary income strategy and to that end we are looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager.

About you

We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience of developing and implementing a voluntary income strategy encompassing the full spectrum of fundraising. You will have extensive experience within the third sector and preferably in a healthcare charity sector organisation and be able to demonstrate strong line management skills including motivation and development of teams and individuals. 

Main Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to play a significant role in an increasingly high profile charity that supports improvements for allergy sufferers. We are inviting applications from individuals who are able to:

  • Review the current strengths and opportunities within fundraising to develop an understanding of our supporter types and demographic to inform the approach to fundraising that is appropriate to the charity.
  • Develop a five year strategy for fundraising within AUK which considers a diverse range of income streams, including grants and trusts, events, individual donors, high net worth supporters, legacy giving and corporate partners.
  • Work with colleagues to develop the supporter journey on the customer relationship management system.
  • Identify, develop and manage relationships with existing and new donors to maximise fundraising potential and supporter/donor retention.
