Team Leader (Children’s Respite Breaks)
Our client is looking for a Team Leader to support disadvantaged children between the ages of 5 and 12 on overnight respite holiday breaks and outreach Playbus sessions in the New Forest, Hampshire.
They’re looking for someone who’s positive and passionate about supporting young carers and vulnerable children, who can provide guidance and set standards for a friendly team of residential playworkers, and is ready to adapt to any challenge. Creativity is good, enthusiasm is a must – you’ll be organising fun activities for children and engaging with them to boost their self-confidence.
The role will be chiefly based at their respite home, situated in the beautiful forest near Blackfield, Hampshire. It’ll be here you’ll provide a variety of individual and group activities for children in safe, nurturing environments, with full access to the facilities available, including trampolines, the swimming pool, bikes and go carts, an adventure playground with a zip wire and the arts and crafts studio.
You will also visit families to meet the children before they come for a break, as well as providing supervision and support to a small staff team.
You must have experience of working with children in a group environment, a childcare, education or social work qualification and knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding. This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
They are recruiting this role on a full time permanent annualised hours contract and many of the hours will mainly be worked on weekends and school holidays.
Salary: £20,475 per annum,
Location: New Forest, Hampshire with occasional travel to London and Home Counties
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
