PCA is a small charity with a huge voice shouting about much needed change for pancreatic cancer and are passionately committed to affecting real change.

Founded by a survivor who proves that there is hope, early diagnosis is achievable and survival is possible, our focus is on ensuring that patients are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at a stage that gives them the best chance of survival.

Hearing daily of more people diagnosed late and dying from pancreatic cancer is a powerful reminder of why our work is so vital. 

About the role:

We are looking for a passionate, driven and creative person to help develop and implement Pancreatic Cancer Action’s marketing and communications strategy to support PCA’s strategic objectives

You will be responsible for developing and delivering a programme of compelling integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels in order to raise the profile of the charity, the cause and income.  You will ensure our key messages are wide-reaching, impactful and consistent across all stakeholders. 

The role will require heading up a team of four with three direct reports. You'll need to have a pro-active approach to management and be able to inspire your team to implement high quality marketing campaigns while managing workflow, conduct appraisals and facilitate the training and up-skilling of staff. 

We are a charity that very much punches above its weight, so, you will not only need to develop the communications and marketing strategies, but also be prepared for a ‘hands on’ role.

You will need to evaluate case studies, images, statistics and information and decide which will be the most engaging for the target audience(s). 

You will need to work with external creative agencies to develop new campaign ideas and project manage all marketing and communication campaigns across the organisation.

You will be detail focused, with a strong focus on monitoring, forecasting and reporting campaign performance to inform optimisation decisions across campaigns to drive maximum value for PCA.

About you: 

Ideally you will have worked in the Not for Profit Sector, have an understanding of the charity sector and also have experience of or an interest in cause-related marketing.

You will need to demonstrate proven experience of working within Marketing and Communications.  You will have strong copywriting, proofreading and editing skills. The successful applicant will be a positive and proactive communicator, able to engage with multiple stakeholders and a strong leader with effective supervision skills.  A personable and approachable demeanour is important as is a strategic mind set and understanding of broad marketing channels (digital and direct specifically) and branding.
