Individual Giving Fundraiser
A great opportunity has arisen for an Individual Giving Fundraiser for a national charity based in West Sussex in order to plan, develop and implement a programme of individual giving, to grow and maximise income for the charity. In addition, all fundraisers will maximise income, recruitment and retention, through the cultivation of individual supporters, by developing and delivering tailored solicitation and stewardship plans and asks.
Key Responsibilities will include:
To oversee the day to day execution of all individual giving activity, which supports both the fundraising and individual giving strategies,
To develop, manage and deliver an agreed programme of direct and digital marketing activity, including creative development, agency management, fulfilment, income and expenditure monitoring, and reporting and performance evaluation.
To devise and implement cultivation plans/donor journeys for all activity, including appeals, in memory, regular giving and lottery, for individuals, using individual giving techniques to manage the donor s relationship.
To develop and write compelling copy for all individual giving activity, which clearly demonstrates need and impact.
To effectively brief creative and fulfilment agencies to produce and deliver direct marketing when appropriate
To support the development and management of designated budgets and targets, ensuring accurate and timely allocation of gifts, and develop and manage monthly reports and data audits for individual giving activity.
To undertake data planning and analysis for all activity, to support the identification, implementation and development of effective and targeted campaigns and products.
To work with the Individual Giving Manager to explore ways of developing individual giving fundraising, including new initiatives and product development, to encourage long term giving to the hospice.
To be responsible for planning, preparing and implementing an effective stewardship programme, including thanking for individual gifts, and creating automated supporter journeys to develop our donors.
To take ownership of all other aspects of stewardship when required, being aware that every communication, via email, phone, text, letter or face to face, all form part of the donor experience.
To understand the importance of legacies, and legacy income, and treat legacy pledges as the ultimate mark of success of our stewardship programme.
To be sensitive to the nature of a donor s involvement with us, understanding the reasons people choose to support us, such as in memory of a loved one.
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Significant fundraising or marketing experience
Experience of producing written materials to a high standard
Experience of liaising with the public by phone or face to face.
Proficiency and experience of using Microsoft office packages and databases.
Excellent organisational, administrative, planning and time management skills
Ability to update and maintain databases
Ability to report on income and expenditure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem solver and flexible creative thinker.
Self reliant and able to take initiative
Excellent attention to detail including proof reading
Ability to manage a variety of tasks concurrently.
Flexible approach to change, innovation and progress in the work environment
