Major Gifts Officer – The Role
At World Animal Protection Partnership Giving builds our movement to give us the reach (people taking action) and resources (income) we need to end animal suffering.
As Major Gifts Officer you will play a critical role in the development and growth of World Animal Protection’s Partnership Giving strategy as we look to diversify our UK fundraising programme and reduce an over reliance on Individual Giving and Legacies.
You will gain valuable experience helping build a pipeline of high-net-worth individuals, trusts and foundations that can contribute five and six figure gifts. You will work with UK and International staff to gather information and help craft compelling proposals and reports that inspire and meet the needs of donors.
You will also identify prospects, produce researched profiles and maintain up-to-date records while helping ensure we are GDPR compliant. You will initially manage a small portfolio of donors, delivering the highest level of stewardship and cultivation.
With lots of scope for growth in the area of Partnership Giving, this is a real opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to make their mark.
Major Gifts Officer – Requirements
- Experience of managing a portfolio of major donors, trusts or foundations and meeting income targets
- Knowledge of using research and databases to identify prospective donors and build profiles
- Ability to produce robust fundraising proposals and presentations
- Well-developed communication, influencing and writing skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good understanding of current fundraising approaches and methodologies as well as best practice
- Able to work to deadlines
