Director of People
Friends of the Earth is one of the UK’s most influential environmental campaigning organisations. We have the most extensive environmental network in the world, with around 2 million supporters across five continents and more than 75 national organisations worldwide; from Norway to Australia, from South Korea to Colombia. Every one of our people is vital to us achieving our goal; that by 2030 the next generation will enjoy an environment that's getting better: a safer climate, flourishing nature, and healthy air, water and food.
Director of People
£64,557 - £71,880
Our staff and our volunteers are hugely committed to taking care of our planet and we’re looking for a Director of People with big ideas; someone who knows how to empower people; to bring out the passion in people and knows how to nurture excellence.
It’s an exciting time to be here; there is still a lot to be done to reach our goals but we have a real appetite for innovation. We're a forward-thinking place already but we want you to tell us how we can be an even more amazing place to work and to help shape the future of one of the world's leading environmental organisations.
As someone who can identify people’s skills and ability and who knows how to bring it out, you’ll have the opportunity to drive our people and our organisation towards new ways of thinking.
You'll have a good head for the operations side of things, but you'll have a motivated team to help you with that; we want you to facilitate, enable and guide our organisation to achieve its goals.
A natural leader, you’ll model a collaborative approach to work and will be able to identify and implement new ways of working, and seize unexpected opportunities. You’ll have experience of successfully developing and delivering strategies encompassing L&D, employee relations, recruitment, volunteering and increasing diversity.
In return we offer a vibrant and friendly place to work, the chance to really make an impact and a competitive range of benefits including flexible hours, a great pension and excellent learning and development opportunities.
