Strategic Projects Officer

We are delighted to be working with The Operational Research Society, an international membership organisation based in the heart of Birmingham.
Please be advised this is a fixed-term contract role.
Supporting their current Pro Bono Scheme and other strategic projects, we are looking for someone with strong projects and admin experience to oversee and coordinate a number of volunteer and educational related projects.
Reporting to the Strategic Project Manager, day-to-day responsibilities will include building relationships with new and existing partners, acting as a point of contact for the Pro Bono Scheme, writing articles and using social media to promote the service amongst potential users and volunteers. You will monitor project progression, producing reports as well as evaluating outputs and outcomes. There will also be the opportunity to provide secretarial support to the committee running their Special Interest group, such as taking minutes at quarterly and annual meetings. In addition the placed candidate will source exhibitors and delegates for their up and coming annual Careers Day for students.
To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience across project management, events and admin support, including minute taking. You must be highly motivated with excellent report writing skills. This role is ideally suited to someone who can juggle and manage their time in a challenging and fast paced environment, with the ability to research, collate and summarise facts. Exceptional oral and written communication skills is essential for this role and experience of working with volunteers is highly desirable. Ideally you will have experience of working within a membership organisation or charity. A degree (or equivalent) or work experience in Operational Research or a numerate subject with project experience is desirable.
